Kyauta Agmadalo Giwa

Kyauta Agmadalo Giwa is Chairperson of the Board of Trustees at the African Centre for Leadership, Strategy & Development (Centre LSD), bringing over 20 years of experience in development practice, community mobilization, and governance. With a background in Agricultural Extension and Management, she has worked with national and international organizations on a wide range of issues including peacebuilding, education, child and women’s rights, movement building, WASH, and youth-led development.

Throughout her career, Kyauta has held leadership roles such as Executive Director and Deputy Executive Director in prominent Nigerian civil society organizations. She has designed and implemented donor-funded interventions with a strong focus on Safe Space Programmes, gender justice, and inclusive education. Notably, she represented the civil society sector at the 2014 National Conference of Nigeria, contributing to the sub-committee on Youth and Women to shape policies on socio-political reform and national cohesion.

Her public service includes membership on the Technical Working Committee on School Reopening, the National Working Committee on Minimum Standards for Schools, and participation in the development of Nigeria’s Accelerated Basic Education Programme. As a consultant to UNICEF, she contributed to the development of the Girls for Girls Strategy under the national Girls Education Programme.

Currently serving with ActionAid Nigeria, Kyauta remains a passionate advocate for girls’ education, youth engagement, and social justice. Her involvement in regional and global networks continues to inform her strategic leadership and strengthen Centre LSD’s mission to promote inclusive development and citizen empowerment across Africa.
