Ernest Okechukwu Kemakolam is a finance and management professional with over two decades of cross-sector experience spanning banking, construction, consultancy, and organizational leadership. He currently serves as Secretary of the Board of Trustees at the African Centre for Leadership, Strategy & Development (Centre LSD), where he has been a board member since 2013.
Ernest holds an MBA in Finance from Ambrose Alli University, Ekpoma, and a B.Sc. in Industrial Chemistry from the University of Nigeria, Nsukka. He is an Associate of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (ACMA), a member of the Institute of Management Consultants of Nigeria (IMCON), and holds an Advanced Diploma in Accounting and Business from the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA), UK.
His professional journey includes over 10 years in the Nigerian banking sector, where he gained expertise in operations, risk management, performance analysis, and marketing. He is the author of A Handbook on Bank Clearing Operations (2009), a reference widely used in the banking industry.
Ernest also has extensive experience in infrastructure and environmental consulting. He played a pivotal role in the Karu Community Plaza AMAC project and held executive roles in operations and finance at Lapin Consult, contributing to legal and fiscal frameworks for the Petroleum Industry Bill and environmental law reforms commissioned by Nigeria’s House of Representatives.
He currently serves as General Manager at Fung-Tai Engineering Company Limited. Ernest brings strategic insight, financial expertise, and institutional knowledge to his role on Centre LSD’s Board of Trustees.
