Godiya Mshelia Yerima is the Manager of the Yola office of the African Centre for Leadership, Strategy & Development (Centre LSD), where she supervises the implementation of community-based programmes advancing education, gender equity, and youth empowerment in Adamawa State. She oversees project operations across multiple Local Government Areas (LGAs), ensuring strategic alignment, effective delivery, and measurable impact. As Coordinator of the Centre's Education Committee, she plays a pivotal role in shaping education-focused interventions in underserved communities.
Under her leadership, Centre LSD Yola established 25 safe spaces for girls across Numan, Song, and Maiha LGAs. These safe spaces offer life skills training and vocational empowerment, resulting in a significant increase in school enrollment among out-of-school girls. Her work has transformed vulnerable communities by empowering young girls and promoting inclusive education.
Godiya’s career in nonprofit administration has been marked by progressive roles that bridge policy and practice. She has led initiatives that strengthen institutional capacity, streamline program implementation, and mobilize community engagement for sustainable development outcomes. Her work is driven by a deep commitment to social justice and community transformation.
She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Public Administration and a Postgraduate Diploma in Industrial and Labour Relations from the University of Maiduguri. She also earned a Master of Arts degree in Peace and Conflict Studies from Modibbo Adama University, Yola. A certified planner and leader, she is a Member of the Institute of Strategic Management, Nigeria (ISMN).
