Strategy that shapes systems, sustains success

At Centre LSD, we believe that strategy is not optional — it’s essential. It is the engine that drives performance, the compass that aligns vision with execution, and the foundation of sustainable impact. From individuals to institutions to nations, the absence of a sound strategy is the missing link in Africa’s development story.

As Myles Munroe rightly stated, “everything rises and falls on leadership.” Chinua Achebe echoed this when he declared, “The trouble with Nigeria is simply and squarely a failure of leadership.” Sadly, many African nations, including Nigeria, continue to grapple with poor leadership capacity, weak institutions, inadequate recruitment processes, and limited citizen engagement. Centre LSD’s Leadership Pillar was established to change this narrative.

Why strategy matters

Centre LSD’s strategic focus stems from a simple diagnosis: Africa’s development crisis is not just a leadership crisis—it is a strategy crisis. Poorly conceived plans, incoherent execution, and disconnected policies have stalled progress across the continent.

Through this pillar, we aim to:

Develop individual and institutional capacity for strategy deployment
Promote the emergence of certified strategists in Africa

Our Strategy Programmes

Strategy Certification Programme (ISMN Certified)

This three-day intensive training is conducted in collaboration with the Institute of Strategic Management, Nigeria (ISMN) and is designed to onboard professionals into the ranks of certified strategists.

The programme equips participants with:

Core tools for strategic thinking and execution
Systems alignment techniques for performance improvement
A globally recognized certificate from ISMN Chartered

Strategic Programming on National & Regional Development Agendas

Centre LSD actively supports the implementation of strategic frameworks such as:

The Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)

We collaborate with government bodies like the Office of the Senior Special Assistant to the President on SDGs (OSSAP-SDGs) and development partners to ensure that strategy leads policy—and policy leads results.

International Strategic Management Retreats

Hosted biannually under our enterprise arm, ACLSD Global Consulting Ltd, these high-level retreats bring together African professionals in vibrant cities like Cape Town, South Africa and Kigali, Rwanda.
