2024 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence – Brief

Publications By Centre LSD Nov 26, 2024

This brief highlights Centre LSD’s engagement in the global 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence campaign, held annually from November 25 to December 10. Under the 2024 theme, “Towards Beijing +30: UNITE to End Violence Against Women and Girls,” the campaign aligned with Centre LSD’s climate and gender justice project, promoting awareness, advocacy, and action across multiple states and the FCT.

Key interventions included high-level meetings with the National Assembly, traditional leaders, sensitization visits to IDP camps, gender walks, radio programs, and daily media content on GBV prevention. With support from Christian Aid, Centre LSD mobilized community and institutional actors to drive collective responsibility in eliminating violence against women, reinforcing the role of faith, civic action, and policy influence in achieving long-term change.
