Side-by-Side Movement Nigeria, Kano chapter, backs validation of SGBV SOPs/instruments

A statement by the project focal person on the Side-by-Side Movement at Centre LSD, Mr. Essien Nyong stated that the meeting will bring together key stakeholders from government ministries, civil society organizations, law enforcement agencies, healthcare providers, traditional and religious leaders, and development partners, to validate, and adopt the SOPs and response instruments earlier reviewed to ensure a coordinated, effective, and survivor-centered approach to addressing SGBV in the state.

He reminded stakeholders that the SOPs/Instruments, which was reviewed through a participatory process, had garnered input from local and international experts, outlined clear roles and responsibilities for stakeholders involved in prevention, response, referral, and justice for SGBV survivors. These instruments are expected to serve as a blueprint for implementing agencies, ensuring that services are accessible, timely, and aligned with best practices and human rights standards.

Members of the public are encouraged to join the discussions through the Centre LSD Social Media platform.
