Side-by-Side Movement Holds Review and Agenda Setting Meeting in Kano State

The meeting set to hold from the 14th of April 2025 will bring together key stakeholders including religious and traditional leaders, civil society organizations, government representatives, and community influencers to review past activities, assess impact, and chart a renewed course for advancing the movement’s mission in kano state. The meeting aims to evaluate progress and lessons learned from past initiatives, foster dialogue and commitment among stakeholders and set a clear agenda and roadmap for upcoming interventions in Kano State.

A statement by Mr. Nyong Essien, the project focal person on the Side-by-Side Movement at The Centre, emphasized the importance of collective action and inclusive dialogue in addressing the root causes of gender injustices. He re-emphasized that the meeting marks a critical step in realigning our shared goals and reinforcing the role of faith/ traditional actors in driving meaningful and sustainable change.

He called on all stakeholders and community members to actively participate in the discussions and join the movement to ensure a violence-free society. Those unable to attend in person are encouraged to engage and follow updates via Centre LSD’s social media platforms.
