Overview

The African Centre for Leadership, Strategy and Development (Centre LSD) successfully hosted the National Summit on Male Feminism & Gender-Based Violence (GBV) Prevention in Nigeria, bringing together key stakeholders, partners, and participants committed to advancing gender equality and addressing the root causes of GBV.

With the theme “Give to Gain: Men Confronting the Root Causes of GBV,” the summit created a platform for critical dialogue, reflection, and action on the role of men as allies in promoting safer and more inclusive communities.

Day One Highlights

The first day of the summit featured engaging sessions, insightful discussions, and strong participation from both in-person and virtual attendees. Conversations focused on:

  • Understanding the root causes of gender-based violence
  • Challenging harmful social and cultural norms
  • Promoting positive masculinity and accountability
  • Strengthening male engagement in advocacy efforts

Participants were encouraged to reflect on their roles as change agents and to commit to actions that promote gender justice within their communities.
