Speaking on the theme, "Ending Violence Against Women and Girls: A Legislative Emergency for West Africa," he challenged lawmakers across the region to move beyond policy discussions to decisive legislative action. He emphasized that stronger laws, effective implementation, adequate funding, survivor-centred justice, and the active engagement of men and boys are essential to ending VAWG.

Today in Accra, Ghana, Dr. Otive Igbuzor, Founding Executive Director of the African Centre for Leadership, Strategy & Development (Centre LSD), delivered the keynote address at the West Africa Female Parliamentarians Peer Review Conference on Ending Violence Against Women and Girls (VAWG).

Speaking on the theme, "Ending Violence Against Women and Girls: A Legislative Emergency for West Africa," he challenged lawmakers across the region to move beyond policy discussions to decisive legislative action. He emphasized that stronger laws, effective implementation, adequate funding, survivor-centred justice, and the active engagement of men and boys are essential to ending VAWG.

He also called for stronger regional collaboration to make the protection of women and girls a legislative priority for a more just, peaceful, and inclusive West Africa.
