The African Centre for Leadership, Strategy and Development (Centre LSD) as part of her activities in the implementation of the Community Led Collective Action for Girls Education (C-CAGE) project in partnership with Malala Fund, is pleased to invite you to a one-day Validation of a Baseline Study Report on Community Led Collective Action for Girls Education.
The validation is aimed at sharing findings from the study report and getting inputs to validate the baseline study report findings on the level of out-of-school girls in Adamawa State. The survey was to generate findings with which the Centre can use to track the changes over time of the project. The project has the purpose of promoting girls' education and enhancing community involvement, and developing society through girls' education.
The survey was conducted to ascertain the trend of out-of-school girls in Numan, Song and Maiha local government Areas to unearth the issues, challenges and chat way forward to reconstruct the narrative of education in the State has been concluded, but best practice requires that the report be presented and imputed into by stakeholders to validate it.
The meeting will provide an opportunity for the media to have a deeper understanding and interaction with both Centre LSD and the Malala Fund on how to better own and engage with issues in the education sector.
A statement released by Frances Igwilo, the Gulmakia Champion for Malala Fund, states that Adamawa state is amongst the educationally disadvantaged states, meaning it is characterized by low participation in education at all levels and with a poor record of girl child education. This is further worsened by the devastating trends of insurgency, terrorism, kidnapping of school girls, and brutal killing of innocent citizens by armed militants in the state. The project was conceptualized to forestall the challenges girls face in getting educated in the northeast and provide a sustainable model through community involvement to reduce the number of out-of-school children.
Frances concluded by enjoining members of the public to brace up and engage the Nigerian education policies to contribute to the development of the society through involving and empowering the girl child at national and local levels in the country.
