Centre LSD to Convene High-Level Policy Dialogue on Nigeria’s National Development Plan (2026–2030)
The African Centre for Leadership, Strategy & Development (Centre LSD) will convene a high-level policy dialogue titled “The National Development Plan (2026–2030): Strategic Imperatives for Economic Transformation and Poverty Alleviation” on Thursday, February 19, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. prompt in Abuja.
The Dialogue will bring together key stakeholders from government institutions, development agencies, civil society organizations, academia, and the private sector to deliberate on the strategic priorities required to drive economic transformation and sustainable poverty reduction in Nigeria.
Discussions will critically examine Nigeria’s development trajectory within the framework of the National Development Plan (2026–2030), alongside the Renewed Hope 8-Point Agenda of the administration of Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
The engagement aims to promote evidence-based discourse on policy coherence, strategic alignment, and implementation priorities necessary to achieve inclusive growth and long-term development outcomes.
A statement by Director of Strategy and Lead of the Dialogue, Mr. Itia Otabor, notes that the engagement will serve as a strategic platform for multi-stakeholder collaboration, focusing on economic transformation, structural reforms, productivity enhancement, social protection systems, and institutional strengthening. He stated that participants will interrogate the Plan’s strategic priorities and explore practical pathways for translating policy commitments into measurable and sustainable development results.
Mr. Otabor further emphasized that achieving the objectives of the National Development Plan requires coordinated action, strong institutional frameworks, and sustained cross-sector collaboration. He added that the Dialogue seeks to generate actionable recommendations to strengthen policy implementation and accelerate national development.
