Urgent Press Release Abuja 18th June 2026

Centre LSD Partners with DRDI-DAG to Commence Leadership School in Kano The African Centre for Leadership, Strategy & Development (Centre LSD) is pleased to announce a strategic partnership with the Dispute Resolution and Development Initiative (DRDI-DAG) for the establishment of a new Centre LSD Leadership School Study Centre in Kano State. In a statement released by the Centre’s Acting Director of Leadership, Mr. Lawal Amodu, noted that this partnership which is the first of its kind in Northern Nigeria, represents another significant milestone in Centre LSD's commitment to building strategic leadership for sustainable development across Nigeria and Africa. The Kano Study Centre joins the growing network of Centre LSD Leadership School Centres located in Abuja, Abakaliki, Benin, Jos, Port Harcourt, and Warri, further expanding access to quality leadership education in Northern Nigeria.

The new study centre according to Amodu, will officially commence academic activities on 20th June 2026 with an inaugural lecture to be delivered by the Founding Executive Director (FED) Dr. Otive Igbuzor, who is one of Nigeria's foremost leadership development experts. The lecture will also serve as the formal inauguration ceremony for the pioneer students of the Kano Centre. Centre LSD was established on the conviction that Africa's development challenges are largely rooted in leadership failures, weak strategies, and inappropriate development approaches. Since 2009, the Centre LSD Leadership School has served as a flagship platform for nurturing ethical, strategic, visionary, and transformative leaders capable of driving positive change in their communities, institutions, and nations. The school provides free leadership education and combines theoretical knowledge with practical learning, mentorship, community service, and civic engagement.

The decision to establish the Kano Study Centre followed a comprehensive assessment of DRDI-DAG's institutional capacity and facilities. The inspection team confirmed that the organization possesses a strategically located learning facility equipped with reliable power supply, modern instructional equipment, digital teaching aids, and adequate classroom infrastructure. Under this partnership, Centre LSD will provide academic oversight, curriculum guidance, mentorship, and quality assurance to ensure that the Kano Study Centre maintains the high standards for which the Leadership School is known. Over the years, Centre LSD has trained and graduated 3,211 leaders through its various leadership programmes and study centres. Alumni of the school are actively contributing to governance, civil society, business, community development, and public service across Nigeria. Centre LSD remains committed to its vision of building an African society with strategic leadership and sustainable development and looks forward to working with DRDI-DAG and other stakeholders in Kano State to raise a new generation of leaders who will transform their communities and contribute meaningfully to national development.
