See More ResourcesThe African Centre for Leadership, Strategy & Development (Centre LSD), with the support of European Union and UN Women, under the Spotlight Initiative to eliminate violence against women and girls shall Thursday July 14, 2022, commence capacity building sessions for leaders of key male dominated groups in Cross River State on right based approach to advocacy, advocacy action plan development, use of response and referral protocols, and documentation.
The workshop which is organized as a train the trainers (TOT) session, will draw participants from the National Union of Road Transport Workers, Tricycle Riders’ Association, Association of Motorcycle Riders, Market Men and Women Association, Youth Progressive Unions, Network of Persons with Disabilities, Traditional Council of Chiefs, and other key groups.
A statement signed by Mr. Vincent Dania, Programme Coordinator at the Centre, said the objective of the workshop is to empower leaders of key male-dominated groups with the requisite knowledge and skills to advocate for gender-equal social norms, challenge harmful practices and establish processes for collection and record keeping of their interventions. He further said that one of the outputs from the session will be an advocacy action plan document that members will commit to implementing.
