Centre LSD lines up graduation of 12, fresh intake in Ebonyi The African Centre for Leadership, Strategy and Development (Centre LSD) will on February 7, 2026, hold its 4th Annual Leadership Lecture and Graduation Ceremony of the Centre LSD/Neighbourhood Environmental Watch (NEW) Foundation Leadership School in Abakaliki, Ebonyi State. The event, which will also feature the matriculation of a fresh set of students, will be held under the theme, “Transformational Leadership for National Development: Inspiring Changes.” According to a statement issued ahead of the programme, the ceremony is expected to attract students, alumni, lecturers, civil society actors, and development stakeholders committed to promoting ethical and strategic leadership in Nigeria and Africa.
The statement disclosed that Associate Professor Ikechukwu Igwenyi will deliver the keynote lecture at the event, while Rt. Rev. Chidi Igwe will serve as the chairman of the occasion. The Programs Coordinator of Centre LSD, Mr Lawal Amodu, said the programme was part of the organisation’s sustained efforts to address leadership challenges that continue to hinder national and continental development. “The leadership school was created based on the understanding that leadership failure remains one of the major causes of underdevelopment in Africa. Leadership can be learned and deliberately developed,” Amodu said.
According to him, 12 students are expected to graduate at the ceremony, having met the programme’s requirements, including a minimum 70 per cent attendance, completion of assignments and participation in Community Development Service activities. Amodu added that with the forthcoming graduation, the Leadership School would have produced 3,211 graduates nationwide.
