See More ResourcesIn a concerted effort to enhance the coordination and effectiveness of responses to sexual and gender-based violence (SGBV), stakeholders across Kano State will convene for a two-day workshop to review the Sexual and Gender-Based Violence Service Provision Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) and harmonize the GBV referral pathways.
A statement by the project officer, Side by Side Scale up Project, Mr. Nyong Essien said that the workshop, organized as part of activities on Project, aims to strengthen the collaborative framework among key service providers, law enforcement agencies, civil society organizations, and community leaders to ensure survivors receive timely, comprehensive, and survivor-centered care.
Key objectives of the workshop include reviewing and refining the existing SOP for SGBV service provision to align with current best practices and national policies. Harmonizing referral pathways to streamline survivor access to medical, psychosocial, legal, and protection services. Identifying gaps and challenges in the current SGBV response system and proposing actionable solutions
He stated that the workshop is a pivotal step toward strengthening the support system for survivors of gender-based violence in Kano State. By aligning procedures and solidifying referral networks, we are making a collective commitment to uphold the rights and dignity of survivors, he said.
The event underscores Kano State’s dedication to addressing SGBV through a coordinated, survivor-centered approach.
