Centre LSD convened a one-day capacity-building meeting for Local Government Chairmen in Anambra State, drawing participation from key actors across government, labour, and civil society to advance effective administration, accountability, and service delivery at the local level.
The meeting opened with a welcome address by Comrade Chris Azor, Executive Director of the International Peace and Civil Responsibility Centre (IPCRC), followed by the keynote address delivered by Mr. Itia Otabor, Director of Strategy, Centre LSD, on behalf of the Executive Director, Mr. Monday Osasah. Goodwill messages were delivered by Hon.
Dr. Chibueze Ofobuike, Chairman of Chairmen in Anambra State; Hon. Amaka Obi, the only female Local Government Chairperson in the state; Hon. Tony Collins Nwabunwanne, Honourable Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Anambra State; and Dr. Nwabufo Nwankwo, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry.
The technical session featured the presentation of research findings by Dr. Madumelu Madubieze Harrison, the Research Consultant.
Further goodwill messages were delivered by Comrade Eucharia Uganwune, NULGE President, Anambra State, while Mr. Akaogu Charles, Principal Auditor, representing the Auditor-General of Anambra State, delivered the Auditor-General’s goodwill message.
