CENTRE LSD FLAGS-OFF PRESENTATION OF SCHOOL MATERIALS TO GIRLS IN ADAMAWA STATE.
The African Centre for Leadership, Strategy, and Development (Centre LSD) will Wednesday March 3rd, 2021 flag-off the presentation of exercise books, school bags and sanders to deserving schoolgirls under its Community-Led Collective Action for Girls Education (C-CAGE) project in Adamawa State with the support of the Malala Fund.
The project which is aimed at increasing the rate of girl-child enrolment, retention and completion of secondary schools in the State, has recorded tremendous successes including the enrollment of 910 girls into school and the establishment of 16 safe spaces for girls to learn basic numeracy and vocational skills due to its advocacies and campaigns efforts.
A statement by Ms. Emmanuella Nwahiri, Programme Assistant at the Centre said the presentation ceremony which is holding in the 3 focal Local Government Areas of Song, Numan and Maiha is to further support and encourage in-school and out-of-school girls to complete and enrol into school.
Items to be presented include School bags, sandals, Exercise books, pencils and pens) to 317 girls in each of the 3 focal LGAs based on set criteria by the Centre.
