The African Centre for Leadership, Strategy and Development (Centre LSD) is a non-profit, nongovernmental organization established under Nigerian laws to build strategic leadership for sustainable development in Africa. The vision of Centre LSD is an African society with strategic leadership and sustainable development.
The Centre’s mission is to work with forces of positive change to empower citizens to transform society. The Centre is guided by the values transparency and accountability; integrity; feminism; diversity; dignity of the human person and Pan-Africanism.
The Centre was registered with the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) on 17th January 2010 with registration number CAC/IT/No 36563. This is the seventh annual report since the centre started operation and the strategic focus for the year is empowering leadership and self managed teams. The idea is to institute a system that gives staff at all levels in the organization the authority to make decisions, be responsible for their outcomes, improve quality and cut costs as well as empowering teams to have the responsibility and autonomy to complete identifiable pieces of work. It is envisaged that this will build a pipeline of leadership within the organization. The Niger Delta office continued to be the hub for the implementation of environment programme in the Niger Delta. The Northern office in Kebbi continued to expand as the hub for the implementation of our livelihood programme.
